Trading Table's first community partner is the Nyandiwa Baptist Church, near Kisumu on the Western edge of Kenya, East Africa.

Like many places in Africa this area has a high incidence of HIV/AIDS, and thus has a large population of orphans. This baptist church community actively cares for the needs of a large number of these orphans, focussing on their health and education needs.

You can read here of other organisations who have sponsored and supported this community, who we also relate with:

Western Australian group who have had an active engagement with this community since 2004.
UK based aid group with Stephen and Angela Rowley who have been making regular trips to the area since 2000
  • A wonderful group of people from Kempsey / Frederickton NSW Australia who have made at least one trip as a group to Nyandiwa
  • Lismore Baptist Church
    child sponsorship for education
  • Centrechurch Lismore
education sponsorship and imported baskets for sale in Australia from Nyandiwa since 2008.

[This list is not comprehensive - please let us know if you also partner with this community - so that we can add you to this list]

Jimson & Rebecca SaukJimson and Rebecca are Papua New Guinea nationals who work within the Apostolic Church movement in PNG. They are based in Port Moresby, but also work extensively in the Highlands region. For over 15 years Jimson was a Member of Parliament in the PNG Goverment, and during this time he represented his region in the Highlands of PNG.

Rebecca makes the most wonderful Bilum Bags. Each bag takes her about 1 week to complete. If made from wool, the wool is tightly rolled first - giving the bags a unique texture and are very resilient. Some bags are made from other materials including the bark of a PNG native tree.
